The Metropolitan Silver Band was founded in 1931 and has been associated with Metropolitan United Church of Toronto since 1934. Now in our 89 th season, we are so pleased to be performing to live audiences again after producing ~ 28 virtual performances over the pandemic. We are the only brass band in the United Church of Canada and remain a vital part of the Met’s music ministry.

In addition to playing the Met’s worship services seven times a year, our annual schedule of 15 – 20 events include performing at concert venues, churches, and retirement homes in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. We are proud of our extensive recording history, having released themed CDs of gospel, Christmas and sacred music, as well as a 4-CD set recording compilation to celebrate our 75 th anniversary.

Our repertoire includes classics, marches, musicals, sacred music, popular selections, and contemporary works written and arranged for brass band. To date, we have also embarked on three successful performance tours – two in Ontario and an unforgettable series of concerts and services in the Maritimes. We have also performed in Buffalo and Michigan with our band colleagues from the Buffalo Silver Band and the Five Lakes Brass Band.

We are very pleased to be participating in this inaugural NABBA event!
